ABOUT ABOUT

"Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage. The world is desperate for braver leaders. It’s time for all of us to step up."

Brené Brown's number-one New York Times best beller, Dare to Lead is the ultimate playbook for developing brave leaders and courageous cultures. Brown's perscription for daring leadership is a collection of four skill sets that are 100% teachable and based on decades of research.

LSC's read along and virtual workshop is for alumni who have wanted to read Dare to Lead or have already read the book but want to dig in and learn how to apply the concepts. Over the course of several weeks, we'll read the book together in a manageable pace and put the language, skills, and tools into practice. This is NOT a book club! LSC's read along and workshop is an opportunity to learn, apply, and enhance your leadership with fellow LSC alumni.

LSC's read along and workshop is FREE for alumni, but there are a few pre-requisites to participate:

  1. You will need to purchase a printed copy of Dare to Lead. While audiobooks and e-readers are great, these formats are not ideal for the read along and workshop. You will also need to supply yourself pens, sticky notes, and paper.
  2. You will need to be able to commit to completing the reading and exercises on schedule, and be able to participate in all virtual meetings. Virtual meetings are scheduled bi-weekly, so you have two weeks to complete pre-assigned sections of the book and one or two pre-meeting exercises.

Read Along & Workshop Schedule

There are four virtual meetings. All virtual meetings are one-hour and will take place from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on the following Thursdays: May 28, June 11, June 25, July 9. In between meetings, participants will gradually read sections of the book and complete an exercise or two independently in preparation for our scheduled meetings. During the meetings, we'll discuss concepts, share reflections, and engage in more group exercises to hone skills and develop our leadership. The Zoom platform will be used for the virtual meetings.

Participation is limited to 20 alumni on a first come, first served basis. Register today!
